Contact & FAQ

I'm interested in a custom painting. What is the process?
First of all, thank you for your interest. I love creating custom paintings! Working with clients to capture a scene, image, memory, or idea brings me so much joy.  Please visit the commissions tab for more information on sizing, pricing, and the process. Customs come in a variety of different sizes and prices to meet different space and budgeting needs. Availability varies based on current bookings.
I have a desired deadline for my custom painting, but you're booked for that month. Is there anything you can do?
I totally understand. I do my best to meet needs. I offer 2 different options for this: 1) I can provide a "gift letter" via email for the recipient to open on your desired deadline with my letterhead saying the painting is coming, or 2) I can offer expedited ordering based on availability for 20% of the final pre-tax, pre-ship order total. There is a chance I will have time to meet your request.
I ordered my custom commission and already paid my deposit, but think I would like a different size or a different frame. What can I do?
This very rarely happens, but in the event it does, I will do my best to accommodate your needs. It depends on how far along I am in the process, and how unique your project is. I use your deposit to purchase the supplies for your piece, and to get started by creating a preliminary sketch for approval of composition.  Depending on the project, there may be a surcharge to switch sizes.

I like one of your original paintings, but it is the wrong size for my space. What can I do?
I'm always happy to create custom work to meet your needs. I don't create replicas of previous work, but will work to paint something very similar to pull out all of the things you love from the original piece.
What are the options for framing?
Frames truly are custom. Frames come without glass, as traditionally recommended. You can choose either a wide frame that typically adds around 3-3.5" to each side, or a floater frame that typically adds around 1-1.5" to each side. Frames come in a variety of finishes including natural maple, white, gold, gold with dark float, or silver.  If you are interested in a matted frame, I currently offer a wide gold with a thin natural linen mat. This is the only matted frame I offer at this time. I'm also happy to search for a specific moulding that you may have in mind. I do not offer framing for prints at this time.
Can I order a print in a different size?
I do my best to accomdate different sizing requests, as every space is unique. I can downsize an image, or change the shape to meet your needs. I typically offer the largest available size. On occassion, I am unable to meet requests. I defer to my printer to ensure the best quality finish. Contact me if you'd like a different size and I'll check with the printer prior to placing the order.

Do you offer pick-up and/or can I come visit the studio?
I do not have a public studio space in Charleston, however I'm happy to invite you to my home studio on a case by case basis. If there is a particular piece you're interested in, I'm happy to take additional photos in different light and locations if desired.

I have questions about shipping.
All orders ship within 5-7 business days via Fedex, UPS, or USPS unless otherwise stated. Tracking information is provided as soon as the item ships. If ordering a piece framed, shipping time may be extended. Shipping fees are based on the size and weight of the painting and are noted upon checkout. Please contact me to obtain a quote if ordering internationally or if expedited shipping is needed.

Returns/Exchanges
All paintings and prints are final sale. Of course please let me know if anything is damaged in shipment. I want you to be completely satisfied, so if you would like additional photographs of a painting or have questions, please contact me. Once your order has been delivered, we can no longer be held responsible for it.
